We couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to our new platform for glaucoma! The Glaucoma Community app is brought to you by Responsum Health and Prevent Blindness, the nation’s leading voluntary eye health and safety organization dedicated to preventing blindness and preserving sight. 

The app provides patients with a toolkit of helpful functions, including a dynamic Newsfeed, a moderated Community Chat, a health information manager called the Patient One-Sheet, and a Link Unit Library (LUL) of key terms and websites, including a guide to patient support resources.

Both Prevent Blindness and our blue-ribbon Content Advisory Council, composed of leading and respected names in glaucoma advocacy and medical expertise, ensure that our users have the confidence of knowing the content they’re reading has been curated by some of the field’s leading minds.

Understanding the key components of The Glaucoma Community is important for you to get the most out of this powerful platform.

Newsfeed

The Newsfeed delivers a customized stream of information, including articles, blog posts, podcasts, press releases, and videos—all of which is carefully curated from esteemed academic, medical, and news sources. Our health content team condenses this information into summaries that are easy to search for, read, and understand. All information is then vetted by our partners. Once an article gets the seal of approval, it gets pushed directly to your desktop or mobile phone.

Through the Newsfeed, you can react, comment, and save article summaries, as well as view reactions from other patients, caregivers, and experts. There’s also a place to organize your saved articles, topics, and medical terms and definitions. You can easily forward articles of interest from your Newsfeed to your doctors or care team, too, alongside any comments or questions.

Community Chat

The Community Chat allows and encourages patient-driven conversations on topics posted by you—our users—and is moderated by trained patient leaders. What makes this feature special is that it’s been designed to suggest relevant topics to you based on the content of your posts in the Community Chat. This is done through algorithms and seamless integration with the Newsfeed and Link Unit Library article and resources.

My Care and the Patient One-Sheet 

The My Care page is the place for you to keep all of your physician contact information and track your medications and treatments. This page allows you to easily upload and organize the paper reports, files, and test results you receive from your healthcare providers.

The chief feature of the My Care page is the Patient One-Sheet, which is a single, printable document that allows patients to store and maintain all of your healthcare information in one place, including doctors, insurance info, medications and dosages, diagnoses, and other key data. Having all this information on one well-organized page makes future visits to new doctors much easier.

Link Unit Library (LUL) 

The Link Unit Library is a unique resource that contains hundreds of professionally vetted links to credible online information about glaucoma-related topics. This includes blogs, conferences, podcasts, scientific articles, videos, and more—all incorporated into one easy-to-use platform. Our LUL is the world’s only comprehensive, searchable, and trustworthy repository of links on glaucoma. Continuously evaluated, screened, and updated, this is your one-stop-shop for the latest information on all things glaucoma.

My Profile

The My Profile page is where you keep all of your account information. Like everything else on the app, the information you add to your profile will never be shared with anyone unless you specifically request it. Responsum Health has a strict privacy policy, which ensures that your identifiable health information will never be shared unless you ask us to do so.
